Great Conductors

Great Conductors
Co-presented by the Manitoba Conservatory of Music and Arts, and the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra.

What does an orchestra conductor do? What makes a conductor great? These and many other fascinating topics will be examined in this absorbing course. You'll learn about the careers and personalities of such all-time masters of the baton as Sir Thomas Beecham, Leonard Bernstein, Herbert von Karajan, Leopold Stokowski, George Szell, and Arturo Toscanini, and sample some of their finest recordings.

Daytime Course
Five Tuesdays
, Sept. 30 - Oct. 28, 10 am to 12 pm

Evening Course
Five Wednesdays
, Oct. 1 - Oct. 29, 7 pm to 9 pm

Fees: $65, $55 for members of Creative Retirement, students of the Manitoba Conservatory of Music and Arts, and WSO subscribers.

The course fee includes a voucher for a 20% discount on a ticket for a concert of your choice in the WSO's 2008-2009 season.
