Intro to Piano

Intro to Piano is a four week introductory group class focusing on some piano FUNdamentals in a supportive group environment. They will get to spend time playing with others, getting introduced to note reading, and making music in a small group.

Intro to Voice

Introduction to Voice invites kids to explore their voices as a group with games, exercises and singing together. In this four-week introduction to vocal study, your child will come away with an understanding that singing is like any other instrument, gain valuable vocal technique, and set them up for successful individual instruction.

Intro to Violin
Chapel Bryce Hall, 515 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba, CanadaChildren’s classesAges 7-9. Local violinist Clair Tang will use creative ways to introduce the violin to little hands! This four week introduction program will cover the basics of posture, bow holds, tone production, notation and getting those fingers down on the string for their first notes.

Fiddling for Adults is a four week program intended to explore or re-discover your instrument using popular fiddle music. Multi level players are most welcome, as we can include easier parts for newer players, and spice things up for those looking for more of a challenge.

Ensemble room Bryce Hall, 515 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba, CanadaAdult classesAges 18+. Intro to Ensemble Singing will prioritize learning to breathe, sing, and tell stories as a group. We’ll begin by focusing on unison singing and move towards introducing harmony.

FREE Tune-In Music Program (at the West End Cultural Centre)

Baby Beats (FREE online version)
Online via Zoom , CanadaBaby BeatsAges 0-3. Baby Beats gives parents with babies and toddlers a chance to participate in music sharing time together from the comfort of their own homes. Instructor McKenna Ogg uses nursery rhymes, books, music recordings, dance, movement, and body percussion to introduce basic musical foundations to our littlest participants.

How to find us
The Manitoba Conservatory of Music & Arts is located at the University of Winnipeg in Bryce Hall (515 Portage Avenue). Bryce Hall is the building where the chapel is located–directly east of Wesley Hall (the “castle” building). The entrance to Bryce Hall is off the walkway between Wesley Hall and Bryce Hall. There is street parking available (keep in mind our entrance is near Portage Avenue and Balmoral Street). Or you can park in the Axworthy Parkade (accessible off of Young Street).
